Who are we?
GlareShade is a small business operated by four high school students, entrepreneurs working to expand and make change.
Our mission
As high school students, we know as well as anyone what it's like to be in an environment filled with fluorescent lights--and so, we make it our goal to improve those areas, helping students, teachers, schools, and businesses alike to create more calming environments where they are needed most.
Grayson Carter
Grayson is a student currently focused on building strong skills in data analysis, systems optimization, and technical communication through helping manage Glareshade's non-Amazon channels. Some of his favorite non-academic activities are swimming and rock climbing.
Aidan Slovik
Aidan is a high school student focused on sales analytics and advertising at Glareshade. Besides school, he loves working on old technology and 3D printing.
Eli Slovik
Eli is a high school diploma candidate at Skyline High School who is working with GlareShade to help as many students as possible. His other interests include chess, ultimate frisbee, and robotics.
Calvin Stucki
Calvin is a student currently helping operate GlareShade to gain valuable experience in the world of business analytics & operations. Outside of his academic pursuits, he highly enjoys playing the piano and skiing.
The GlareShade Story
The desire for a solution for fluorescent lighting
GlareShade was first conceived of in 2023 when we (Grayson, Aidan, Eli, and Calvin) realized something--that our high school would be a much better place to be and learn in if the harsh fluorescent lighting that pervaded it was gone. Putting our heads together, we decided to come up with a solution to our problem.
Launching our small business
After a few months of brainstorming and spitballing ideas, we realized that the way to go would involve fluorescent light covers. Immediately getting to work, we pooled nearly all our savings and began building our business on Amazon. And after a couple months of rigorous experimentation and learning, in early 2024 our construction was complete--and the dream of GlareShade had become reality.
Our journey since
Together, since 2024 we've run GlareShade through thick and thin, always seeking to maintain quality in our products, ensuring good customer service, and working to create better academic and work environments for everyone we can reach.
Community Matters
Having sold and distributed GlareShade to multiple local businesses and schools, (including our own Skyline High School), we've had experience in working to improve our community.
